We absolutely loved our stay! If you are travelling to Sherborne - definitely stay here! It’s a beautiful house, the host is super friendly. It’s close to Sherborne town centre.
Nice period property with a modern interior done-up to a high standard - situated in a beautiful little village.
This is a hidden gem. A lovely bolthole in a peaceful setting. Modern clean and well decorated throughout. Walks from the front door, and close to lovely Sherborne with its characterful shops and stunning Abbey. Would thoroughly recommend if you want a great escape!
We had a great time and will stay here again.
Lovely stay - looking forward to an excuse to go back!
A good base for our holiday. central to places we wanted to explore.
Thank you so much for a lovely stay!
Lovely few days in a beautiful place, the space was clean and modern. Lots of walks nearby to enjoy.
Delightful, comfortable and well equipped cottage. Friendly and helpful host. Thank you.
A few basic things would be great, salt, oil but otherwise great. Michael was kind enough to bring over some olive oil!! Great apple juice too :)
We had a fantastic long weekend here. The house has been beautifully refurbished to a high standard and is located in an extremely peaceful village. The host was very responsive, providing clear instructions to ensure a smooth check in. We wouldn’t hesitate to come back.
Beautifully appointed place with everything we needed for a really enjoyable stay. Great with our two small daughters.
We had a lovely stay in such an idyllic retreat, thanks for having us
This is a lovely, secluded place to spend time in the bucolic Dorset countryside. Within striking (short) distance of Sherborne, Poyntington is a very quiet village. The house is smart, newly decorated and functional. A family of four works well for a couple of nights.
We stayed for five days at the coach house to visit family in the area. It was very quiet, and beautiful surroundings. Really enjoyed opening the bifold doors and Juliet balcony windows to let in a fresh breeze as we’ve had excellent weather. The place is a high standard throughout and we will definitely use it again.
Beautiful stay. Feels right at home and has everything you need. All information was given before check in and didn’t need to contact the host for anything as it was all provided.
Really enjoyed staying at this property that our 3 year old son affectionately called ‘the chimney house’. The communication from Veronica was great and instructions were clear. The property was spotlessly clean and as described (a great shower!). It felt very private, not overlooked and hardly any passing cars, just sounds of the occasional cow and views of sheep. It was a perfect base for lots of national trust places to visit such as Montacute house, and a must-see is Stourhead, about 25 minutes away. And for the kids, Longleat is only 40 mins away. Sherborne is 10 minutes down the road with a handy Sainsburys and a selection of nice pubs and cafes. The price per night was reasonable, and definitely the most competitive compared to other properties within the Dorset/Somerset region. Would absolutely recommend this place and would definitely stay again (so long as your prices don’t increase 😁) Thank you for having us.
I had a great stay. The house is welcoming and nicely done. I stayed for work and found it very peaceful in the evenings. It was also easy to get to bigger places. The one thing I had missed in the description is the main bathroom is off the twin bedroom , downstairs. Which for a larger group might take some planning. I’d recommended staying here if you’re looking for a peaceful place to stay, with pretty views and easy access. I’m sure I’ll look to stay again.
We spent a couple of nights there - it was cosy. clean, very comfortable and a great place to stay for visiting Sherborne.
We really enjoyed our stay, kids loved it! The house was beautifully decorated and as described, we'd love to return. Would definitely recommend, thank you!
Absolutely beautiful setting, wonderfully presented. Clearly the conversion was a labour of love. Plenty of walks up to the ridge and cycling/running routes aplenty. Easy reach to Sherborne for history and shops, Yeovil for the cinema and amenities and Glastonbury not too far either. Owner popped by to check in and was very kind, provided an OS to help navigate local paths and some homemade apple juice! We will be back :-)

Lovely property, ideal if you like the quiet life. There's no shops near so stock up at the supermarket, really tight corner to get to the property by car, but once youre in it is lovely, clean and very very quiet
